Bridging the gap between you and your baby

BrIdging the gap between you
and your baby

Australia’s leading natural health project helping you create your unique families.

Trying for a baby has become increasingly difficult for Australians. One in six Australian couples of reproductive age experience difficulties conceiving. Many individuals, couples and same sex couples are seeking medically assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) and ICSI (Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injections) to enhance their conception possibilities.

But for others, neither natural conception nor ART/IVF prove successful using their own eggs and/or sperm. Both egg and sperm donation programs are becoming increasingly popular and offer a unique opportunity for everyone to become parents.

OUR APPRoACH

At The Donor Project, we believe every woman deserves the opportunity to be a Mum and every man a Dad. The Donor Projects mission is to inspire and support intending parents to fulfil their dream of parenthood and create their unique family using donor eggs. We want to empower couples to make informed fertility choices and change the conversation around using donor eggs to encourage couples to think outside the square to help them get their baby sooner.

We guide you to find your perfect clinic and the perfect way for you to find your donor egg angel. It can be a mine field and Miranda has first hand experience as a Modern Mum blessed with two donor egg conceived children. It took Miranda 3 donors to create her unique family.

The Donor Project is designed to educate, empower and inspire couples to think beyond “infertility” and consider all the possibilities to fulfil their dream of becoming a parent, and to change the conversation around what it means to have a donor-egg conceived child.

The Donor PrOject has two
very important aims:

We will help you navigate the options and choose the best option for you to find your donor egg angel and clinic- local vs importing eggs vs international

We will prepare you physically, mentally and emotionally for a successful conception & pregnancy. We want you and your body to be baby ready prior to donor egg transfer. The 12-week program is a combination of 12 on-line weekly modules jam-packed full of education material, information, nutritional and lifestyle advice for you to follow to ensure you are ready. We have done all the hard work for you! It includes 4 face-to-face consultations which can alternatively be conducted via Zoom or Telehealth. Even though you are using donor eggs, you both still need to be at optimum health.

“Optimal health of all parents, prior to conception, is a major factor that will positively influence reproductive outcomes, a successful pregnancy and subsequent health of the baby.”

Acupuncture used during DEIVF at the time of embryo transfer is associated with increased chances of successful implantation, conception and pregnancy outcomes.

  • It regulates our stress hormones, modulates mood for stress relief & emotional support through an emotionally challenging (and draining) process
  • Improve general health, and blood circulation (Ideally once or twice per week for 4-6 weeks)
  • Increases blood flow to the ovaries and uterus for implantation
  • Supports stress hormones & reduces stress, anxiety and overwhelm
  • Helps manage symptoms and side effects of DEIVF drugs
  • Performed pre and post-embryo transfer may improve implantation and successful outcome

Like any medicine, acupuncture is dose-dependent. Research suggests 9-12 treatments (1 per week for 9-12 weeks) prior to an IVF cycle can increase successful pregnancy outcomes.

I would love you to let me inspire your fertility and create your family. Ok, so what next?

FAQ’S

We are Australia’s leading natural health project helping you create your unique family.

Trying for a baby has become increasingly difficult for Australians. 1 in 6 Australian couples of reproductive age experience difficulties conceiving. Many individuals, couples and same-sex couples are seeking medically assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) and ICSI (Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injections) to enhance their conception possibilities.

Creating families via donor eggs (or sperm) is increasingly popular giving unique opportunities to people that may not have otherwise been blessed with their child.

At The Donor Project, we believe everybody deserves the opportunity to be a parent.
The Donor Projects’ mission is to support intending parents (IP’s) to fulfil their dream of parenthood and create their unique families using donor eggs.

We can guide you and help you decide the best way for you to find your perfect egg donor angel and clinic.

Most importantly we prepare you physically and emotionally for pregnancy and/or creating a family.

So, you’ve been told you have crappy eggs. I’m so sorry.

You’ve already been through enough. Years of rolling around in the sack “trying naturally”. When that failed, countless rounds of IVF. And now that has failed too. They say it’s your eggs that are too old, poor quality, and not good enough to make a baby. It is heartbreaking.

I know, I have been there.

Or,

  • You are an older intending mum
  • You have low AMH or DOR (Anti mullerian hormone or diminished ovarian reserve)
  • You are going through an early menopause

Or maybe

  • You have a genetic condition that you don’t want to pass on
  • Your ovaries have suffered and can’t work anymore due to cancer, chemotherapy or serious illness
  • You don’t have any ovaries
  • You might even be same-sex (male) intending parents

Whatever your reason, I’m glad you are here. You can still be the mum/dad/parent you have always dreamed of being. It’s just going to look a little different.

It’s ok to grieve.

Take a deep breath and know it is ok to feel sad, angry, scared, and overwhelmed as you feel that you have lost your genetic link to your future child. But remember, family requires love, not DNA.

The aim of The Donor Project is to prepare you physically, mentally and emotionally for a successful donor egg-conceived pregnancy the first time around.

I want you and your body to be baby ready prior to your first donor egg transfer.
I can guide you through all the possible ways to find your perfect egg donor, and which option is right for you.

I am Dr Miranda Myles and I am the creator of The Donor Project and I know how to help you bring your baby home sooner.

I’m an experienced Naturopath & Dr of Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) and I make conception easier. I love combining ancient wisdom (eastern and naturopathic) with modern reproductive medicine.

I’ve worked in the women’s health and fertility world for 20 + years, treating 20,000 patients. I guess that makes me a fertility expert (gulp, never thought I’d say that).

I’ve seen the lengths and expense people go to, to create their families.

I get it. Yup, I’ve been there. Unexplained infertility. Ugh. What a crap diagnosis. I’ve experienced the monthly disappointment with every period, the anxiety of “Will this ever happen for me”, and the complete loss of faith in my body’s ability to create life.

How is it that suddenly everyone is pregnant, and what’s with all the prams in my street? After riding that roller coaster for 8 years, I am the very proud Mum of Charlie and Matilda, my donor egg conceived angels, from two different donors.

This was my natural conception. It was always meant to be this way.

In total it took me:

  • 8 years
  • 3 different egg donors
  • 13 embryos
  • 9 rounds of IVF- 3 cycles
  • using my own eggs, 6 cycles
  • using donor eggs
  • 3 trips to Thailand
  • 4 trips to Malaysia
  • A bazillion drugs
  • A gazillion dollars
  • Blood, sweat and tears
  • Magic baby dust

Through my journey, I have learned a ton of stuff.

I don’t want you to go through as many DEIVF cycles as I did. I can call on both my expertise and my experience to help you reconnect to your inner goddess, to rediscover trust in your body’s ability to do this.

You can be a mum.
You can be a dad.
You can be a parent.

Just because you are using gorgeous 20-something-year-old eggs, unfortunately does not guarantee first-time success.

Plus, I don’t want you mixing crappy sperm with a stunning egg. We want to create a super embryo, made from a super egg and a super sperm.

If you are doing DEIVF as a couple, the sperm becomes the genetic link for both of you.

Poor sperm parameters, especially sperm morphology and DNA fragmentation are implicated in early pregnancy loss. I do not want you going through all of this for it to end in an early pregnancy loss.

Like any IVF process, on average it takes 3 full cycles before achieving a successful outcome. There are many reasons for this:

  • Poor quality embryo (sperm issue)
  • Thin uterine lining
  • Endometrial receptivity issues
  • MTHFR polymorphisms
  • Thyroid antibodies
  • Elevated NK cells
  • Uterine microbiome

I dont want this for you. You have been through enough. I want to help you bring your baby home sooner.

Our focus is:

  1. Making a stunningly good quality embryo (sperm quality)
  2. Creating a luscious, nourishing womb ready to house your little embryo Implantation success
  3. Positive pregnancy (first time around)

1 in 6 Australian couples of reproductive age experience difficulties conceiving and are trying to find alternative methods, including egg donation.

Egg donation offers women unsuccessful in using their own eggs, the opportunity of pregnancy, and the dream of creating their family. Egg donation is the process whereby another female donates her eggs to the female recipient, otherwise known as the intending parent, and has a success rate (defined as a live birth) quoted between 50-75%. The success rate is directly correlated with the age and health of the donor, the quality of sperm used and the subsequent quality of the embryos.
The donor and recipient cycles will be synchronized, and the donor will undergo a normal IVF treatment to harvest and collect her eggs. The best quality eggs will then be fertilized with the recipient’s partner’s sperm, to create embryos. As per any IVF cycle, the best-quality embryos are then transferred, with any additional embryos being frozen.

I am passionate about working with everyone in need of egg or sperm donation to help them achieve their dreams of having a baby and creating their own beautiful, unique family.

I am dedicated to helping donors and intending parents achieve optimal physical and emotional health prior to donation, ART/IVF, and conception. I provide a beautifully supportive and nurturing environment to allow you to reach your optimal health goals, to enable you to achieve a successful conception, pregnancy and baby using.

It can be very difficult in Australia to find a donor. Most of the major IVF clinics will provide egg donation services, however, they suffer long waiting lists and very few available donors.

Whilst there are other options, generally, there are three main ways to find an egg donor:

  1. Find Your Own
  2. Bring Overseas Eggs In
  3. Go Overseas

Any DEIVF that takes place in Australia must be a known process. That means the donor and the child must be on the Donor Register for that state so that the donor-conceived child can request to meet their donor when they turn 18. Please check individual states for their current regulations.

Using an egg donor may not be for everyone. It is an important decision to make, but the focus should be the end result; a happy, healthy baby that otherwise you may not have been able to conceive.

The need to use an egg donor Angel really is for any intending mum (or intending parents) unable to conceive using her own eggs.

Reasons for seeking an egg donor may include:

  • Poor quality eggs and/or low AMH
  • You are an older intending mum
  • Previous unsuccessfully attempts at IVF treatments utilising your own eggs
  • Experiencing premature menopause
  • Carrying the risk of passing on a genetic disease and don’t want to pass this on
  • Ovarian dysfunction due to cancer, chemotherapy or serious illness
  • Absence of ovaries
  • Same-sex (male) parents

It’s ok to grieve.

Take a deep breath and know it is ok to feel sad, angry, scared, and overwhelmed as you feel that you have lost your genetic link to your future child. But remember, family requires love, not DNA.

Yes, biologically, epigenetically & energetically, you are the Mum. It’s fascinating to consider that three different humans can come together to create one gorgeous, unique little human. When you receive a donor egg, you are getting one cell. That’s it, one cell. It may be the most precious gift you will receive, but it is still only one cell. One cell doesn’t make a baby. One cell doesn’t even make an embryo. It is up to the Mum and the Dad to develop that cell. That one cell requires beautiful good quality sperm to fertilise it, to divide and develop into 2 cells, 4 cells, 8 cells, a blastocyst. And then it needs Mum to grow, nurture and nourish it, to give it its vibe, its energy, its very essence.

In a nutshell – the differences between Local (Australia) versus Overseas versus Importing:

There are pros and cons on each side of the argument and it is really important for Intending Parents (IP) to make an informed decision around some of the legal, financial and emotional costs involved.

The Donor Project Podcast is designed to educate, empower and inspire couples to think beyond “infertility” and consider all the possibilities to fulfill their dream of becoming a parent, but also to change the conversation around what it means to have a donor-egg conceived child.
