Supporting your path to parenthood
Australia’s integrative natural health project helping you create your unique families.
Trying for a baby has become increasingly difficult for Australians. One in six Australian couples of reproductive age experience difficulties conceiving. Many individuals, couples and same sex couples are seeking medically assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) and ICSI (Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injections) to enhance their conception possibilities.
But for others, neither natural conception nor ART/IVF prove successful using their own eggs and/or sperm. Both egg and sperm donation programs are becoming increasingly popular and offer a unique pathway to parenthood.
OUR APPRoACH
The Donor Project provides education and supportive guidance for individuals and couples exploring donor egg conception as one possible pathway to parenthood.
We support informed decision-making by helping people navigate fertility clinics and donor egg options, while encouraging open, thoughtful conversations about donor-conceived families.
Founded by Dr Miranda Myles, The Donor Project is informed by personal experience and delivered with a compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based approach
Our aim is to educate and support people to explore donor egg conception as one possible pathway to parenthood, and to encourage thoughtful, informed conversations about donor-conceived families

The Donor PrOject has two
very important aims:

Guidance to explore local, imported, and international donor egg options

This 12-week program supports physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing in preparation for donor egg treatment.
It includes weekly online modules covering education, nutrition, lifestyle, and wellbeing considerations, along with four individual consultations delivered in person or via Telehealth. The program is designed to support informed preparation for both partners alongside medical care

FAQ’S
The Donor Project is an Australian integrative natural health and support service providing education, guidance, and care for individuals and families navigating donor conception.
For many Australians, the journey to parenthood can be complex. Approximately 1 in 6 couples of reproductive age experience difficulty conceiving, and a growing number of individuals, couples, and same-sex couples explore assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) and ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) as part of their care.
Creating families through donor eggs or donor sperm is becoming increasingly common and offers an alternative pathway to parenthood for people whose circumstances may differ from traditional conception.
At The Donor Project, we believe that everyone deserves respectful, compassionate support when exploring their options for building a family.
Our role is to support and guide intending parents by providing education, coordination, and informed guidance as they consider donor egg pathways, including assistance with understanding donor options and clinic selection.
We also offer holistic support focused on physical wellbeing and emotional care, recognising that the donor conception journey can be both medically and emotionally demanding. Our services are designed to complement, not replace, medical care provided by fertility specialists.
The Donor Project does not provide medical treatment or guarantee reproductive outcomes. All medical decisions and fertility treatments are managed by registered fertility specialists and clinics
So, you’ve been told you have crappy eggs. I’m so sorry.
You’ve already been through enough. Years of rolling around in the sack “trying naturally”. When that failed, countless rounds of IVF. And now that has failed too. They say it’s your eggs that are too old, poor quality, and not good enough to make a baby. It is heartbreaking.
I know, I have been there.
Or,
- You are an older intending mum
- You have low AMH or DOR (Anti mullerian hormone or diminished ovarian reserve)
- You are going through an early menopause
Or maybe
- You have a genetic condition that you don’t want to pass on
- Your ovaries have suffered and can’t work anymore due to cancer, chemotherapy or serious illness
- You don’t have any ovaries
- You might even be same-sex (male) intending parents
Whatever your reason, I’m glad you are here. You can still be the mum/dad/parent you have always dreamed of being. It’s just going to look a little different.
It’s ok to grieve.
Take a deep breath and know it is ok to feel sad, angry, scared, and overwhelmed as you feel that you have lost your genetic link to your future child. But remember, family requires love, not DNA.
The aim of The Donor Project is to prepare you physically, mentally and emotionally for a successful donor egg-conceived pregnancy the first time around.
I want you and your body to be baby ready prior to your first donor egg transfer.
I can guide you through all the possible ways to find your perfect egg donor, and which option is right for you.
I’m Dr Miranda Myles, and I am the creator of The Donor Project.
I understand how challenging the fertility journey can feel. I have personal experience with unexplained infertility and the uncertainty, disappointment, and emotional toll that can accompany it. For many years, I experienced the cycle of hope and loss, alongside the ongoing questions about whether parenthood would be possible for me.
Over time, I became a mother to my children, Charlie and Matilda, through donor egg conception, using two different donors. This pathway to parenthood was deeply meaningful for me and shaped both my personal journey and the way I support others navigating similar experiences.
My experience with donor conception has informed the creation of The Donor Project, which is grounded in empathy, understanding, and respect for the many ways families are formed. I recognise that each person’s journey is unique, and that there is no single “right” path to parenthood.
In total it took me:
- 8 years
- 3 different egg donors
- 13 embryos
- 9 rounds of IVF- 3 cycles
- using my own eggs, 6 cycles
- using donor eggs
- 3 trips to Thailand
- 4 trips to Malaysia
- A bazillion drugs
- A gazillion dollars
- Blood, sweat and tears
- Magic baby dust
I don’t want you to go through as many DEIVF cycles as I did. I can call on both my expertise and my experience to help you reconnect to your inner goddess, to rediscover trust in your body.
Paths to parenthood exist.
Using donor eggs, including eggs from younger donors, does not guarantee pregnancy or first-cycle success. Outcomes from assisted reproductive technologies vary between individuals and depend on many medical and biological factors.
When donor egg IVF is undertaken as a couple, sperm provides the genetic contribution for the non-egg-providing partner. For this reason, sperm health is one of several factors that fertility specialists may assess as part of treatment planning.
Research has identified associations between certain sperm parameters—such as morphology and DNA integrity—and reproductive outcomes; however, these factors do not predict outcomes for any individual, and pregnancy loss is multifactorial.
It is also recognised that IVF outcomes may be influenced by a range of variables, including but not limited to:
-
Embryo development characteristics
-
Uterine lining and receptivity
-
Immune and hormonal factors
-
Genetic variations
-
Endometrial and vaginal microbiome composition
Fertility treatment often involves more than one cycle, and experiences vary widely between individuals.
Our role is to provide supportive, integrative care alongside medical treatment. We focus on:
-
Supporting general reproductive health and wellbeing
-
Providing education around sperm health and lifestyle factors
-
Supporting physical and emotional wellbeing during fertility treatment
All medical decisions, investigations, and fertility treatments are managed by registered fertility specialists. Integrative support is not a guarantee of pregnancy and does not replace medical care.
Every fertility journey is individual, and outcomes cannot be predicted.
Approximately 1 in 6 Australians experience difficulty conceiving. Some individuals and couples explore donor egg or donor sperm pathways as part of their fertility journey.
We offer integrative, supportive care focused on physical wellbeing, emotional support, and informed decision-making, working alongside registered fertility specialists.
Finding an egg donor in Australia can be challenging. While most major IVF clinics offer egg donation services, availability may be limited and waiting times can be lengthy due to a small donor pool.
There are generally three pathways people may explore when seeking an egg donor:
-
Finding a known donor
-
Importing donor eggs from overseas
-
Undertaking treatment overseas
Egg donation arrangements undertaken in Australia must comply with state and territory legislation. In most jurisdictions, egg donation is required to be a known donation, meaning donor details are recorded on the relevant state Donor Register. This allows donor-conceived individuals to access identifying information about their donor once they reach adulthood, in accordance with local laws.
Regulations vary between states and territories, and individuals are encouraged to seek advice from their fertility clinic or relevant government authority to understand current requirements.
Using an egg donor may not be for everyone. It is an important decision to make, but the focus should be the end result; a happy, healthy baby that otherwise you may not have been able to conceive.
The need to use an egg donor Angel really is for any intending mum (or intending parents) unable to conceive using her own eggs.
Reasons for seeking an egg donor may include:
- Poor quality eggs and/or low AMH
- You are an older intending mum
- Previous unsuccessfully attempts at IVF treatments utilising your own eggs
- Experiencing premature menopause
- Carrying the risk of passing on a genetic disease and don’t want to pass this on
- Ovarian dysfunction due to cancer, chemotherapy or serious illness
- Absence of ovaries
- Same-sex (male) parents
It’s ok to grieve.
Take a deep breath and know it is ok to feel sad, angry, scared, and overwhelmed as you feel that you have lost your genetic link to your future child. But remember, family requires love, not DNA.
You are the Mum.
It’s fascinating to consider that three different humans can come together to create one gorgeous, unique little human. When you receive a donor egg, you are getting one cell. That’s it, one cell. It may be the most precious gift you will receive, but it is still only one cell. One cell doesn’t make a baby. One cell doesn’t even make an embryo. That single cell requires fertilisation to divide and develop into 2 cells, 4 cells, 8 cells, a blastocyst. And then it needs Mum to grow, nurture and nourish it, to give it its vibe, its energy, its very essence.
In a nutshell – the differences between Local (Australia) versus Overseas versus Importing:
There are pros and cons on each side of the argument and it is really important for Intending Parents (IP) to make an informed decision around some of the legal, financial and emotional costs involved.
Male factors are recognised contributors to fertility challenges, and reproductive health reflects the combined contribution of both egg and sperm.
In assisted reproductive treatment, embryo development is influenced by factors relating to both partners. A whole-of-couple approach to care acknowledges this shared contribution.

I am Dr Miranda Myles and I am the creator of The Donor Project and I know how to help you bring your baby home sooner.
I’m an experienced Naturopath & Dr of Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) and I want to bridge the gap between you and your baby. I love combining ancient wisdom (eastern and naturopathic) with modern reproductive medicine.
I’ve worked in the women’s health and fertility world for 20 + years, treating 20,000 patients. I guess that makes me a fertility expert (gulp, never thought I’d say that).
I’ve seen the lengths and expense people go to, to create their families.
I get it. Yup, I’ve been there. Unexplained infertility. Ugh. What a crap diagnosis. I’ve experienced the monthly disappointment with every period, the anxiety of “Will this ever happen for me”, and the complete loss of faith in my body’s ability to create life.
How is it that suddenly everyone is pregnant, and what’s with all the prams in my street? After riding that roller coaster for 8 years, I am the very proud Mum of Charlie and Matilda, my donor egg conceived angels, from two different donors.
This was my natural conception. It was always meant to be this way.

You can be a mum.
You can be a dad.
You can be a parent.
Just because you are using gorgeous 20-something-year-old eggs, unfortunately does not guarantee first-time success.
Plus, I don’t want you mixing crappy sperm with a stunning egg. We want to create a super embryo, made from a super egg and a super sperm.
If you are doing DEIVF as a couple, the sperm becomes the genetic link for both of you.
Poor sperm parameters, especially sperm morphology and DNA fragmentation are implicated in early pregnancy loss. I do not want you going through all of this for it to end in an early pregnancy loss.
Like any IVF process, on average it takes 3 full cycles before achieving a successful outcome. There are many reasons for this:
- Poor quality embryo (sperm issue)
- Thin uterine lining
- Endometrial receptivity issues
- MTHFR polymorphisms
- Thyroid antibodies
- Elevated NK cells
- Uterine microbiome
I don’t want this for you. You have been through enough. I want to help you bring your baby home sooner.
Our focus is on optimising sperm quality, supporting a healthy and nourishing environment for embryo implantation, and promoting overall reproductive health for successful pregnancy outcomes.
1 in 6 Australian couples of reproductive age experience difficulties conceiving and are trying to find alternative methods, including egg donation.
Egg donation offers women unsuccessful in using their own eggs, the opportunity of pregnancy, and the dream of creating their family. Egg donation is the process whereby another female donates her eggs to the female recipient, otherwise known as the intending parent, and has a success rate (defined as a live birth) quoted between 50-75%. The success rate is directly correlated with the age and health of the donor, the quality of sperm used and the subsequent quality of the embryos.
The donor and recipient cycles will be synchronized, and the donor will undergo a normal IVF treatment to harvest and collect her eggs. The best quality eggs will then be fertilized with the recipient’s partner’s sperm, to create embryos. As per any IVF cycle, the best-quality embryos are then transferred, with any additional embryos being frozen.
I am passionate about working with everyone in need of egg or sperm donation to help them achieve their dreams of having a baby and creating their own beautiful, unique family.
I am dedicated to helping donors and intending parents achieve optimal physical and emotional health prior to donation, ART/IVF, and conception. I provide a beautifully supportive and nurturing environment to allow you to reach your optimal health goals, to enable you to achieve a successful conception, pregnancy and baby using.
Whilst there are other options, generally, there are three main ways to find an egg donor:
- Find Your Own
- Bring Overseas Eggs In
- Go Overseas
Any DEIVF that takes place in Australia must be a known process. That means the donor and the child must be on the Donor Register for that state so that the donor-conceived child can request to meet their donor when they turn 18. Please check individual states for their current regulations.
